The Ada County Coroner is the elected official ultimately responsible for determining and certifying cause and manner of death—decisions that carry profound legal, medical, and emotional consequences for families and the community. Accurate death certification impacts criminal investigations, public health data, insurance claims, court proceedings, and the ability of families to receive answers and closure. This role demands not only compassion, but extensive experience, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of every facet of a thorough death investigation.
It is imperative that the coroner has proven experience accurately completing death certificates, managing complex investigations, collaborating with law enforcement and medical professionals, as well as ensuring the responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources. Mistakes or inexperience in this office can have lasting consequences for families, public safety, and the integrity of the justice system.
The trajectory of my life through my experience, certifications, and passion are what brought me to this point. Ada County needs a coroner who can lead with competence and confidence.
Issues
-
Through continuing education initiatives, the coroner’s office will stay current with the ever-changing field of forensic science. This will keep the office operating at the highest forensic standards to best serve the community.
-
A largely overlooked aspect of the Ada County Coroner’s Office is the dedication to protecting the public. Collaborating with various agencies, we can identify ongoing risks to our citizens such as deadly illicit drugs, communicable diseases, and other hazards. This cooperative work ultimately saves people’s lives.
-
Spending the taxpayer’s dollars responsibly is important to me. Ada County deserves a coroner’s office that operates at the highest level, and that can be accomplished through strategic operational spending.
-
We work in a demanding field which can emotionally exhaust the people who work in it. In an effort to combat these stresses, I emphasize a positive environment where a person feels supported and valued. Through this positive feedback and empowerment, every effort is made to avoid employee “burnout” and encourage career long employment.
-
With Idaho being one of the fastest growing States in the nation, our county is also rapidly growing. I will acutely monitor the growth of Ada County in order to estimate the future resources needed to adequately service the community.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office is one of only six dually accredited offices in the United States. National accreditation is an immediate signal to constituents and partner agencies that stringent standards are being upheld. The status is a source of pride, and makes the office eligible for grants and other funding.
